Krones AG | Based on current figures, Krones AG, the Neutraubling-based manufacturer of filling and packaging technology adjusts its earnings forecast for the fiscal year 2019.

For years, the beer industry has been challenged with keeping track of keg assets, aware that distance from the brewery increases the likelihood of losing expensive stainless steel kegs. Market expansion becomes a more expensive proposition when one factors in the cost of lost or stolen kegs.

Tasting the distinctive flavours of Piedmont

Matching kegs | People are sure to sit up and notice when an old, decommissioned factory, formerly of major regional significance, is converted into a brewery. Ecological sustainability is an added factor when only high-quality products and ingredients from the surrounding area are used for beer production. This reflects the self-perception and corporate identity of Hordeum brewery in Novara, Piedmont, Italy. Regional craft beers are brewed there at a capacity of 1500 hl.

The Neutraubling-based manufacturer of filling and packaging technology released its annual report on 21 March 2019.

Krones continued to grow in 2018. Revenue increased by 4.4% to EUR 3.85 billion. The company thus attained the revised forecast of 4% revenue growth announced in autumn 2018. Adjusted for currency and acquisition effects, revenue in 2018 rose by around 5%.

To support growth, flexibility and sustainability, Lightweight Containers, the producer of KeyKeg and UniKeg is expanding with several new production lines in Europe.

The Dutch keg producer is currently investigating the possibilities for their sixth production facility that will be located in Italy.

A world leader in line engineering and material handling solutions, Gebo Cermex was announced as the winner of the highly coveted Best Innovative Robotics Solution Award for its CoboAccessTM_Pal at the PPMA (Processing & Packaging Machinery Trade Association) Industry Awards 2018 on September 25th.

As the demand for KeyKeg and UniKeg is growing significantly, Lightweight Containers is opening a fifth production line, located in Guadalajara, Spain.

On October 11, the Sidel Group concluded the acquisition of PET Engineering Srl, further expanding the company’s portfolio of packaging solutions. “With packaging increasingly playing a key role in any marketing mix, we are confident that Sidel and PET Engineering’s complementary strengths in packaging design, qualification and blowing process will bring the Sidel Group more business opportunities while offering customers a diversified choice of partners to materialise their creative requirements,” comments Pavel Shevchuk, Executive Vice President Services, Sidel Group.
