Collaboration | The American Society of Brewing Chemists (ASBC) and the Chartered Institute of Brewers and Distillers (CIBD) announce their joint meeting in 2026.

The European Brewery Convention (EBC) is pleased to announce the launch of the Call for Abstracts for the EBC Congress 2026, taking place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, 6-9 September 2026. Researchers, brewers, and technical experts from around the world are invited to share their latest insights and innovations with the brewing science community.

Save the date | The Brewers of Europe and their scientific, technical arm, the European Brewery Convention, recently announced that the 40th edition of the EBC Congress will take place in Rotterdam in the Netherlands from 6–9 September 2026.

Budget shortfalls: CAMRA cancels 2026 beer festival

United Kingdom | CAMRA, the real ale enthusiasts’ group, cancelled Britain’s biggest beer festival amid an existential crisis as it launched a cost-cutting drive, The Guardian newspaper reported on 10 September.

Brazil | The 15th VLB Ibero-American Symposium Brewing & Filling Technology will be held at the Bourbon Convention Hotel in Ponta Grossa, Brazil, from 10–12 November 10 2025. Since 2008, VLB Berlin has been organizing this technical conference with a special focus on the Ibero-American beer sector.

France | Jointly organized by Destination Nancy and the French Brewery Museum at the Nancy Exhibition Center (Parc des Expositions), the Salon du Brasseur is a key meeting point for the entire brewing industry. Its aim is to provide professionals as well as passionate amateur brewers from the fields of brewing, malting, and related processes (distillation, fermented health beverages, etc.) with a comprehensive showcase of available products and equipment. The event will take place on 16 and 17 October in Nancy, France.

Trade fair preview | The ides of September herald that autumn is right around the corner – AND that your favourite fall trade fair is too! The drinktec takes place in Munich, Germany, from 15–19 September 2025. Experts from around the world will convene in the halls of the Messe München convention centre, where over one thousand exhibitors from more than 50 countries will offer a wide range of solutions for entire value chains of every imaginable beverage or liquid food on the planet.

Munich | Even before drinktec 2025 opens its doors, trade fair organizer Yontex already confirmed the dates for the next edition: from 11 to 15 September 2028, the Munich exhibition grounds will once again serve as the center of the international beverage and liquid food industry.

Nuremberg | At the beginning of August, the Nuremberg Exhibition Center will once again be transformed into a place to see, smell and taste. The European Beer Star 2025 will once again be looking for the best beers in the world.

Major brewing event | From 3–5 November 2025, the city of Marche-en-Famenne will host a major brewing event: the Brussels Beer Challenge. For its 14th edition, this international beer-tasting competition will be held for the first time in the heart of the Famenne-Ardenne region, making Marche the temporary capital of craft beer.
