Belgium | Ahead of the EBC 2026 in Rotterdam (69 September), Ina Verstl sat down with John Brauer to discuss how the EBC and the brewing industry have evolved since 2008, when he became Executive Officer. She also grabbed the opportunity and asked him to do a bit of crystal ball gazing – which he reluctantly agreed to.

The European Beer Star remains one of the world’s most prestigious beer competitions. A total of 2,274 beers were entered in this year’s edition. With participants from 48 countries, the European Beer Star once again reaffirms its role as a global stage for breweries of all sizes.

United Kingdom | BFBi has announced the full programme for its No & Production Seminar 2026, taking place on 14–15 October at Holywell Park Conference Centre, Loughborough. The event will focus on the practical production challenges behind successful low- and no-alcohol product development, from alcohol control and trace measurement through to flavour retention, fermentation management, dealcoholisation, functional ingredients, process engineering and hygiene.

Berlin | VLB Berlin will host the 1st VLB Draft Beer Filling Conference – Cleaning, Filling & HACCP from 31 August to 2 September 2026 at the Starhotels Cristallo Palace in Bergamo, Italy. The new international conference will focus on the technological, hygienic, and quality-related aspects of draft beer production, keg filling, and dispense systems.

USA | The American Society of Brewing Chemists (ASBC) and the Chartered Institute of Brewers and Distillers (CIBD) are joining forces 17–19 August 2026, in Seattle, Washington, USA, for a gathering of brewing and beverage scientists and professionals. The theme of the meeting is “Global Brewing and Distilling Innovation: Shaping the Future Together.”

France | The Salon du Brasseur trade fair is expanding its scope and becoming the “Salon du Brasseur & de la Boisson”, now addressing the entire beverage sector: In addition to beer, the focus will now also include wine, sparkling wine, spirits, fermented beverages, as well as alcohol-free and low-alcohol products. The Salon du Brasseur & de la Boisson 2026 will take place from 15–16 October at the Nancy Exhibition Centre in France. Following the trade fair, the Fête des Bières festival will take place from 16–17 October.
