Company signs Commitment letter to Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

Crown Holdings | According to a press release dated 16 September 2019, the provider of packaging products has officially committed to the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), a project that aims to transition companies into a low-carbon economy by helping them set specific goals to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.

To join the initiative, Crown will set specific goals for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in alignment with the Paris Agreement of 2015, through which international governments collectively pledged to limit the global temperature increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius. The new goals will be reviewed and approved by the SBTi committee, and are planned to be shared in early 2020.
