Jörg Croseck was appointed CEO of Carlsberg Deutschland in August 2008. He took over from Wolfgang Burgard, who was first CEO of Hannen Brauerei until he in 2004 was appointed CEO of Holsten-Brauerei in Hamburg (later Carlsberg Deutschland). When he stepped down as CEO in 2008, he remained Director on the Board of Holsten-Brauerei AG, he was appointed President of the German Brewers Association, and he has continued working on strategic tasks for Carlsberg Deutschland.

Achim Winter will be handing over the CEO role after many years of successful management in which he substantially transformed and positioned the Group for European-wide growth. After having successfully integrated CCR Logistics AG, Vfw GmbH, and Cycleon Netherlands B.V., Mr. Winter will complete his long-planned transition out of operational management. He will remain a shareholder and an active member of the Supervisory Board of RLG with responsibilities including networking, lobbying, and international acquisitions.

Dipl.-Ing. Dario Cotterchio (age 26) started at the Research Center in April 2009. His current scientific focus comprises the elaboration of the measurement parameter “redox potential” and its introduction in brewing industry.

Dipl.-Ing. Hubertus Schneiderbanger (age 26) supports the team as a consulting engineer in the area of brewing technology and microbiology.

Dipl.-Ing. Konrad Müller-Auffermann (age 27) will be responsible for consulting in terms of brewery plants, fermentation technology and filling technology, in particular for alcohol-free beverages based on cereals as well as for alternative fermentation considering different technologies.

With this extended product range a considerably improved range of services will be possible. The GEA Jet Pumps products will be managed in a separate business unit by the managing director Gunther Höpfinger. Dr.-Ing. Christopher Braun is responsible for the overall management of the company.

Following the success of the last 15 editions, The 16th China International Exhibition on Packaging Machinery & Materials, also known as “Sino-Pack 2009” & The 13th China International Exhibition on Beverage, Brewery and Wine Technology, also known as “China Drinktec 2009”, will be held on March 3 – 6, 2009 at China Import and Export Fair Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou, PR China, to showcase the most advanced and up-to-date packaging technologies for food, beverage, pharmaceuticals, daily chemicals and cosmetic sectors. The total exhibition area of 2009 is expected to reach over 20,000 sqm, doubling the size of 2008 edition with over 500 exhibitors.

The European Brewery Convention announces the appointment of John M. Brauer (BSc. (Hons), MSc., Dipl. Brew.) as successor to Marjolein van Wijngaarden, who will be retiring as Secretary General of the EBC by the end of 2007. John will officially take over from Marjolein on 1 January 2008, and his position will be ‘EBC Executive Officer’.
