A great get together | In its seventh year, the international tournament that took place from 8 to 13 October 2018 in Santiago de Chile provided a platform to share knowledge with the general public, to bring people together, create culture and encourage responsible consumption habits, offering beer style workshops, tours to breweries and specialized bars.

Celebrating Hordeum vulgare | The time was well chosen: November 12th 2018, the day before the BrauBeviale kicked off in Nuremberg, was an ideal day for 110 malting barley experts to convene for the RMI Heirloom & Terroir Barley and Malt Symposium. The topic itself was also an auspicious one: historic varieties of malting barley and their uses in today’s brewing industry.
In March 2019, the International Brewing and Cider Awards announced the medal winners for 2019, certifying 133 beers and ciders as among the best in the world.
After three successful days, BrauBeviale closed its doors on a record high note. Over 40,000 trade visitors (2016: 37,923) – over 18,000 of them international – travelled to Nuremberg from 13 to 15 November 2018. While there, 1,094 exhibitors – 53 percent of them international – presented their products and solutions related to the entire beverage production process chain. A varied supporting programme rounded out the three days.

The Brewers of Europe Forum | Perhaps it was just as well that the Brewers of Europe, a lobby group representing 29 national associations, chose Brussels as the location for its first Forum on 7th and 8th June 2018 to discuss “Beer and Beyond” in 40 seminars.
Successful integration | The lectures for EBC Symposium were integrated into the first ever Brewers’ Forum at the Brewers of Europe in Brussels (p. 287) and spread over two days (June 7th - 8th 2018).
