The International Brewing and Cider Awards revealed on 1 May this year’s Championship trophy winners at a prestigious awards ceremony at the Guildhall, London, recognising just twelve products as the best of the best in beer and cider.

CBC 2019 | The brewing industry is giving itself a pat on the back, and although some of the excitement surrounding craft beer has slowly started to dissipate, the industry certainly still has every reason to toast its ongoing success. From April 8th to 11th 2019, craft brewers and other members of the community convened in Denver, Colorado, to celebrate and network with one another, as well as to broaden their education and learn more about the diverse range of suppliers associated with the industry. Around 14 000 participants attended the 2019 Craft Brewers Conference, traveling to Denver from all 50 US states and 65 countries around the world. Held parallel to the conference, they also visited the Brew Expo America trade show – the largest to date with more than 1000 exhibitors. “As an organization, the Brewers Association is stronger and more powerful than ever,” emphasized President Bob Pease in his opening speech.

Beer Attraction, staged by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) and held at Rimini Exhibition Centre, is growing and attracting the supply chain’s top events. In fact, from 16th to 19th February 2019, the trade show leader for speciality and craft beers will be taking place alongside Italgrob’s International Ho.Re.Ca. Meeting, BB Tech Expo – the professional trade fair for beer and beverage technologies – as well as Food Attraction, dedicated to products and technologies for the Ho.Re.Ca. sector.

With its third edition, the trade fair for the food, beverage and packaging industry in South Africa has established itself on the market. As a networking event, food & drink technology Africa (fdt Africa) offered a platform for the industry to exchange views on current and future trends.

The 12th Technical Meeting of the EBC Brewing Science Group (BSG) was held on June 5th to 6th, 2018 in Brussels, Belgium.The BSG represents a research network of brewing scientists and technologists working at universities, institutes and, of course, also breweries.

SEA Brew 2018

Returning for its fourth edition on June 21 and 22, 2018 to Manila, the Philippines, the Southeast Asia Brewers Conference (SEA Brew) has continued its growth from previous years mirroring the rapid development of the regions’ brewing industry. After visits to Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), this year Manila hosted the annual conference and associated trade fair. SEA Brew attracts brewers, distributors and investors from across the Asian region; they come together to exchange ideas and gain insights from global experts into the latest technological innovations to keep up with the fast-paced developments of the industry.

Brighton based beer writer and radio broadcaster Emma Inch has been named Beer Writer of the Year 2018 at the Guild of Beer Writers’ annual awards ceremony, staged on 22 November 2018.
