Climate protection | At the end of July 2023, Krones reports details of its climate strategy in the Carbon Transition Plan. It discloses the group’s actions, interim results and further plans for implementing the measures needed to achieve its climate targets.

Colombia | Bavaria & CIA S.C.A. is Colombia’s biggest brewery and with its national beer brands like Águila, Poker and Club Colombia ranks among the Colombians’ five most popular companies. By erecting an additional brewery in Palmar de Varela, a district in the country’s north, Bavaria shows that it wants to continue investing in its over-130-year-old business here. The brewery has ordered no less than three new lines from Krones for this project.

Plant-based brewing solutions | Natural plant-based brewing solutions represent a rapidly growing requirement for producers and consumers alike, with brands shifting focus toward using more versatile brewing ingredients that sustainably enhance process efficiencies while still delivering great tasting beer. Why? Attribute it to emerging younger consumers such as millennials and “Gen Zers,” two groups that identify as plant-based supporters in far greater numbers than older age groups. However, the cost advantages of sustainable plant-based solutions appeal to all age groups.

Belgium | In 2023 Meura sold the 500th Meura2001 mash filter. The product had first been introduced to the brewing world in 1989, nowadays it is used in the production of more than 25 % of the global beer volume.

State-of-the-art | A new state-of-the-art activated carbon water treatment plant for Vrumona, one of largest soft drinks companies in the Netherlands and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Heineken, has been completed by Envirogen Group.

Major step | On 20th of April 2023, Krones has signed an agreement to acquire 90 % of Ampco Pumps Company LLC (Ampco Pumps), thereby expanding its capabilities in process technology. Based in Wisconsin, USA, Ampco Pumps is supplying sanitary pumps and applied products like mixing and blending equipment to the food, beverage, dairy processing, personal care and pharmaceuticals markets. The company has more than 70 year history in the pump market and is a key player for sanitary pumps in the US food and beverage market.

India | When Krones.digital was created in 2022, Krones blazed a new trail in terms of collaboration: within a matrix organisational structure, team members around the world work together in community to develop solutions for digitally innovative, automated production. The new India facility in Bengaluru was inaugurated at the beginning of April 2023.

Krones published its 2022 Annual Report and confirmed its preliminary figures. Its title is “Solutions beyond tomorrow”, the company’s new target picture. At the Annual General Meeting for 2022, the Executive Board and Supervisory Board will propose a dividend of €1.75 per share (previous year: €1.40 per share).
