The Barth-Haas Grants 2012: A Great Opportunity for Students

Hops are one of the most interesting research areas worldwide and the full extent of all the applications for hops are far from being known. Therefore the Barth-Haas Group, the world’s largest supplier of hop products and services, will again confer grants for hop research projects in 2012.

Stephan Barth, Managing Partner of Joh. Barth & Sohn in Nuremberg declared „With these grants for students we would like to support new research ideas which deal with hops and their applications in and beyond the brewing industry. We are very keen to see the ideas of the students and will support them during their research as far as possible.

In 2012 the Group will confer up to four grants of 2000 EUR each to support eligible diploma theses and up to three grants of 700 EUR each for eligible term papers which focus on the relevance of hops and hop products with regard to brewing applications. The time-frame for researching and composing the theses and papers should not exceed nine months and five months respectively. The final decision about the grants will be made by a jury of the Managing Partners of the Barth-Haas Group and the members of the Scientific Committee.

Applications (in English) should be sent by May 31st, 2012, to Dr. Christina Schönberger, Joh. Barth & Sohn, Nuremberg (Mail: ). More information is also available at www.barthhaasgroup.com
