This was the conclusion reached by all well-known speakers within the framework of the symposium "Beer - a healthy pleasure" organised by the Bayerischer Brauerbund (Association of Bavarian Brewers) on 5 May in 2004 in Munich. The issue was discussed and highlighted regarding medical and alimentary physiological aspects.
The invitation for this first symposium of that kind in Germany was extended by the "Bayerische Brauerbund", the "Deutscher Brauerbund" (German Association of Brewers) and the "Deutsche Akademie für Ernährungsmedizin", (German Academy for Nutrition Science) and more than 160 participants came.
