The M400 is a single-channel, multi parameter unit. The same unit can handle different parameters such as pH/ORP, oxygen or conductivity, depending on the type selected.

Following the successful registration of the European protected designation of origin „ZATECKY CHMEL“ (Saaz hops) in May 2007 hops and hop products from the crop 2007 could for the first time carry the label with logos of ZATECKY CHMEL and European protected designation of origin.

The flexible SFC devices from Siemens Water Technologies constitute a new measuring and controlling series which complements the concept of the multi-functional MFC system. The SFC series is intended for single measurements of water parameters as is necessary in simple applications. One main function is controlled chemical dosing which is used when disinfectant has to be added, for example. The series of devices matches the MFC system not only in terms of design and dimensions but also in terms of the range of functions. The two types of device are based on the same software and can therefore be combined and communicate with each other via a CAN bus.

The beverage industry develops new products with extreme care while at the same time cautiously manoeuvring their brands through the jungle of fluctuating trends and changing consumer habits. It has become increasingly necessary to extend the boundaries of innovation management beyond the product itself to developments in packaging and P.O.S. concepts which can be implemented quickly, even at short notice. For sales success in an intensely competitive market, the factors of time, customer orientation and optimized coordination with suppliers are playing an ever greater role. For the latter factor, longer-term partnerships are recommended, as can be seen in the business relationships of the Panther Group, which produces packaging and displays.

Munich University of Technology has tested the one-way KeyKeg and compared it to steel kegs. Both types of kegs were tested under very demanding conditions during two extreme tests. The university tested both the taste of the beer and CO2 loss. The KeyKeg proved to be performing as good as steel kegs.

2000 Bavaria successfully installed a fully automatic beer recovery system from Filtrox AG. The system was equipped with a maximum filtration surface of 109 m2. Over the years the system was extended to this maximum possible filtration surface. Due to the steadily growing output of the brewery they wanted to extend the system again with an additional 96m2 filtration surface.

While InBev has launched an integrated ad campaign to promote its Stella Artois brand ahead of the lucrative summer months, recent Nielsen figures claim that the Carlsberg family of brands has overtaken Stella Artois as the best-selling lager brand in Britain.

“Delivering value – profitable growth in a challenging world” was the title of Canadean’s tenth conference, which was held on 24 and 25 April 2008 in Spain’s capital Madrid.

This is amazing progress. The figure of the previous year already set a new record: in 2006, some 7,000 tons of stainless steel were processed in Bürgstadt am Main.

Following its successful premiere last year, drinktec is again organising a congress in India. This year the title is ‘drink technology India 08’.
