International Brewing Convention 2007, 1st – 3rd October 2007, Manchester, UK

The first major international brewing convention and exhibition to be held in the UK for more than 10 years announces an exciting Programme outline and confirmed Speakers, concentrating on the wider issues of world class manufacturing and supply chain.

Being held at the Manchester International Convention Centre and adjoining G-Mex exhibition centre in Manchester from 1st – 3rd October 2007, the event promises to bring together delegates from around the globe

This is the first international brewing convention and exhibition to be held on British soil for more than 10 years. The convention’s theme concentrates on the wider issues of world class manufacturing and supply chain issues rather than technical brewing.

The programme committee, under the Chairmanship of Professor Katherine Smart, have been extremely creative in designing and sourcing a programme that will candidly review the challenges faced by the Brewing Industry but also provide insights into how those challenges should be addressed and managed. Delegates will be able to consider and debate the key topics and take a forward looking view of how they will ensure that they have robust plans for the future.

This convention is about looking to the future and providing delegates with the insight and tools to successfully deal with the complexities and pace of change inherent within our business arena

The strong and clear themes are the core of the programme;

  • Preparing for the future – what are the challenges and how will they be manifested – a powerful insight from the Global leaders of the Industry

  • World Class Manufacturing – what could it mean to you, what does best practice look like, what are the key actions to take

  • Sustainability – how should we address the issues of energy consumption, waste creation and the protection of the environment

  • Meeting customer needs and financial constraints simultaneously through excellence in supply chain management – what new business processes should you be deploying to ensure your competitiveness and effective use your assets

  • What have other similar industries done to manage changes in consumer requirements

  • How is ‘quality’ seen by consumers – how do we deliver consistency and continuous product development

  • What is innovation? How do we need to constantly review our products and ensure we have a full innovation pipeline that stays ahead of consumer requirements

  • The critical role of people – their development, training, education and alignment behind key business objectives

These themes will be considered by a wide range of speakers drawn from around the globe and with a cross section across the Industry; Practitioners, Suppliers, Academics – all experts in their field.

Running alongside there will be plenary seminar sessions which will consider topics in depth. Delegates will be able to move between these seminars and the major supplier exhibition.
