Europe’s Keg Champions 2025

Germany | The Keg Champion Awards 2025 were presented by the Steel Keg Association (SKA) during drinktech at the BRAUWELT exhibition stand on 17 September 2025. Founded in 2022, the association highlights the sustainability, economic efficiency and improved consumer experience associated with steel kegs.

The award was presented for the second time in Europe during the trade fair and in five different categories. BRAUWELT International had already reported on this in advance and supported the competition. At the award ceremony, SKA Chairman Alexander Brand presented the SKA's objectives and the motivation for the competition, namely to promote the sale of beer, wine, cider, etc. from stainless steel kegs, as well as the competition criteria and the jury, before the winners of the individual categories were announced.

Those were the winners in the respective categories:

• Sustainability: Royal Unibrew, Denmark
• Circularity: Westons Cider Makers, Herefordshire, UK
• New Innovation & alcohol free: Lucky Saint, UK
• Drink Draft (Customer experience & freshness): Brewdog, UK
• Sustainability & plastic free: Photos Photiades Breweries Ltd, Cyprus.
