EBC Congress 2026 – Call for Abstracts now open!

The European Brewery Convention (EBC) is pleased to announce the launch of the Call for Abstracts for the EBC Congress 2026, taking place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, 6-9 September 2026. Researchers, brewers, and technical experts from around the world are invited to share their latest insights and innovations with the brewing science community.

The call is open from Tuesday, 4 November 2025 until Wednesday, 4 February 2026.

Submissions must be made exclusively through our online platform - abstracts sent by any other means cannot be considered.

The EBC “Call for Abstracts” uses a web-based automated abstract collecting system for gathering abstracts, linking them to their authors and affiliations, and presenting them blindly (without names or affiliations) to members of the EBC Executive Team, acting as a technical-scientific advisory board.

Based on the team’s evaluations, abstracts are ranked from “highly recommended” to “not recommended” for inclusion in the Congress programme.

Authors can indicate whether they wish to be considered for an oral presentation or a poster presentation.

The review process ensures the highest level of scientific integrity and diversity of perspectives within the EBC community.

Topical areas for EBC 2026

As in previous years, the call is segmented into a number of topical areas. We have revised and updated those topics. There are fewer topics than in previous years, but these are defined less narrowly. The topical areas for EBC 2026 are:

  7. Consumer preference studies
  8. Data mining, AI supported decision-making processes in breweries and malting plants
