Cargill’s malt business announced on 30th March 2017 a partnership with Zuidnatie, a Belgian logistics service provider, to build a new logistics platform in the port of Antwerp. Set to open in August 2018, it will offer transshipment facilities and storage for up to 300,000 metric tons (MT) of barley and malt.
Carlsberg will restructure its business to focus on its brewing operations. It will cease to run its own distribution services in the UK, it was reported on 29 June 2016. Additionally, it will no longer provide porterage services, as it will transfer its remaining logistics operations to DHL Tradeteam during 2017 and 2018. The move follows a review of its supply chain.

Achim Winter will be handing over the CEO role after many years of successful management in which he substantially transformed and positioned the Group for European-wide growth. After having successfully integrated CCR Logistics AG, Vfw GmbH, and Cycleon Netherlands B.V., Mr. Winter will complete his long-planned transition out of operational management.
