Precoat filtration using centrifugal horizontal filters (ZHF) has been established for decades as an efficient and economic process for beer filtration. In co-operation with Carlsberg, SeitzSchenk Filtersystems GmbH has been developing a new precoat carrier for the ZHF since 1995.

n January 1999, one of three existing filter lines (ZHF-S) at Carlsberg in Copenhagen was fitted with the new Durafil precoat carrier.
The new Durafil precoat carrier was successfully tested and validated by Carlsberg in Copenhagen, both on a pilot as well as a commercial scale. All objectives set by Carlsberg were achieved.
