Two new reviewers for BrewingScience
Nuremberg | The international group of reviewers at the scientific journal BrewingScience is delighted to welcome two new colleagues, Dr Martin Senz, VLB Berlin, Germany, and Dr René Rehorska, FH Joanneum, Graz, Austria.
Dr. Martin Senz completed his biotechnology studies at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences in 2006. After his doctorate and postdoctoral work at the Technische Universität Berlin, he took over the management of the newly founded Department for Bioprocess Engineering and Applied Microbiology at the Versuchs- und Lehranstalt für Brauerei in Berlin (VLB) in 2015. Since 2024, he has been responsible for the scientific business development at at the VLB Berlin. His 19 years of applied research and development focused on the production of microorganism preparations and the establishment of defined fermentation processes for various applications.
Dr. René Rehorska is an Austrian plant and brewing scientist, certified beer sommelier, and brewery sensory analyst. He works as a Senior Lecturer at FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences in Graz in the degree programmes Sustainable Food Management and Food: Product and Process Design, and also teaches at the Karl-Franzens-University of Graz. His research focuses on experimental brewing methods, fermentation processes, plant secondary metabolites, and the application of wild yeasts in sustainable beverage production. In addition, he is co-founder and chair of BrauCampus Graz, a platform dedicated to promoting brewing science and beer culture in Austria.
