Riccardo Gobbis appointed as Managing Director of Vetropack Italia

Bülach | The Vetropack Group, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of glass packaging, has announced that Riccardo Gobbis has taken over the position as Managing Director of Vetropack Italia S.r.l. as of 1 April 2025. With his extensive experience in the glass packaging industry, Riccardo Gobbis will be responsible for driving the further development of Vetropack's business in Italy, to fully leverage the potential of the highly modern production facility in Boffalora sopra Ticino.

Riccardo Gobbis brings a wealth of expertise to his new role, having most recently served as Director of Global Manufacturing Excellence in a multinational corporation in the field of food and beverage glass packaging solutions. He led a global team focused on improving plant efficiency and performance across over 60 plants worldwide. His previous roles include Head of Regional Manufacturing Excellence for Europe, where he managed operations across the European plants, as well as Regional Manufacturing Director, overseeing eleven plants in Italy and Hungary.

In his new position, Riccardo Gobbis will focus on fully leveraging the technological potential of the Boffalora plant, which was opened in 2023 as one of the most modern and sustainable glass production facilities in Europe. His expertise in process optimisation and plant performance improvement will be key to strengthening Vetropack's position in the Italian market and ensuring profitable growth.
