Two new additions to the BrewingScience team
Editorial board | BrewingScience is pleased to announce two new additions to their team: In the past three months they were able to find an additional reviewer and a new member of the editorial board.
New external peer reviewer Glen Fox
With Glen Patrick Fox the scientific journal BrewingScience, published by Fachverlag Hans Carl, Nuremberg, welcomes another renowned expert in his field to their board of external peer reviewers who are tasked with assessing all articles submitted for publication.
After completing his graduate diploma in malting and brewing in 1991 and his biotechnology masters in 1995 at Ballarat University, Australia, he received a doctorate in Philosophy at Southern Cross University in 2009.
Currently, Glen P. Fox holds the Anheuser-Busch Endowed Professorship in Malting and Brewing Sciences at University of California, Department of Food Science, Davis, CA. As Academic Director he supervises the Master Brewers Certificate Program (continuing and profession education). He is a member of the European Brewery Convention (EBC) Science Group, the Institute of Brewing & Distilling (IBD) – Asia Pacific Section (analytical sub-committee), the Northern Regional Barley Advisory Committee in Australia and the American Society of Brewing Chemists (ASBC) on various analytical committees.
His area of expertise is cereal production; malting and brewing, especially NIR applications in cereals; food and animal feed; and statistics for laboratory analysis and related applications in plant cultivation.
New member of the editorial board Alex Speers
After Glen P. Fox had been appointed new member of the BrewingScience expert group in December, the editorial board has now also received international support: With Prof. Alex Speers from Dalhousie University, Department of Process Engineering and Applied Science, in Halifax, Canada, another expert with a great international reputation supports the work of BrewingScience.
Prof. Speers studied at the University of British Columbia, Canada, and earned his doctorate. In addition to many publications and awards for his research work, Prof. Speers is active in numerous brewing science-related institutions in various capacities. These include the Master Brewers Association of the Americas (MBAA), the American Society of Brewing Chemists (ASBC) and the Institute of Brewing and Distilling (IBD). His research interests include yeast and fermentation science.
