Change of CEO in Carlsberg Deutschland

Jörg Croseck was appointed CEO of Carlsberg Deutschland in August 2008. He took over from Wolfgang Burgard, who was first CEO of Hannen Brauerei until he in 2004 was appointed CEO of Holsten-Brauerei in Hamburg (later Carlsberg Deutschland). When he stepped down as CEO in 2008, he remained Director on the Board of Holsten-Brauerei AG, he was appointed President of the German Brewers Association, and he has continued working on strategic tasks for Carlsberg Deutschland.

Senior Vice President Northern Europe Jørn Tolstrup Rohde: “Carlsberg Deutschland is working on defining a new strategy for the company which can ensure growth and profitability for the long term. This work is extremely important and a lot of effort is put into it. Unfortunately, we do not agree on the way this strategy is to be executed, and we have therefore agreed with Jörg Croseck that he will leave the company. It is always sad to have to part, but we believe this is the right time to make the change.”

Jørn Tolstrup Rohde: “Wolfgang Burgard has a lot of experience and extensive knowledge of Carlsberg Deutschland. He has never really left the business, and I am sure he is the best person to step in as acting CEO and ensure stability and also progress in terms of the strategic development of the company, until a successor has been appointed.”
