Fritz Jacob appointed Honorary Professor at TU München
Dr. Ing. Fritz Jacob has been appointed Honorary Professor at TU München (TUM). He currently is in charge of the Research Center Weihenstephan for Brewing and Food Quality – an important link between research, teaching and practical applications. As Honorary Professor, Jacob will further expand his teaching position at the Department for Brewing and Beverage Technology regarding Quality Management.
After qualifying for university admission and a brewer and maltster apprenticeship Jacob studied brewing and beverage technology in Weihenstephan. Later he was awarded a doctorate at the former Department for Brewing Technology II at TU München. Afterwards he held several positions at the State Brewing Technology Testing and Experimental Station at Weihenstephan. Since 2009 Jacob has been Chairman of the Mitteleuropäische Brautechnische Analysenkommision e.V. (MEBAK), in 2011 he obtained a seat on the executive board of Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan.

As an internationally acknowledged expert Jacob has provided advice for the brewing and beverage industry worldwide and has initiated numerous research projects. Apart from these activities he has committed himself to teaching at the Center of Life and Food Sciences Weihenstephan. He reads lectures on international brewing methods and quality management in beer production. In addition, he supervises numerous student essays and doctoral theses. Due to his international contacts and activities in different committees and organizations Jacob is very well networked – a huge advantage for his students regarding their career start and potential internships.
