Campden BRI appoints new Director of Technology
Leading food and drink research company Campden BRI has appointed Dr. Richard Akkermans to head its Technology Division. Richard will be responsible for driving the development of research and services across the division and working with members of Campden BRI’s senior leadership team to develop and implement the company strategy.
Richard will lead 70 staff across the departments of Baking & Cereals Processing, Primary Production & Processing and Food Manufacturing Technologies, to provide a broad range of clients – from SMEs up to global multinationals – with research, bespoke operational support, training and consultancy services. He brings with him over 17 years’ industrial experience of food R&D, technology and product development.
After completing his DPhil at Oxford University, Richard embarked on a career in the food industry. His previous roles include R&D Director at McCormick, Associate Director for Emerging Markets R&D at Mondelez and European Category Technical Leader for Chocolate at Mars.
