Patagonia’s trademark lawsuit against AB-InBev is still ongoing
USA | AB-InBev will have to defend itself against claims by Patagonia that it misappropriated the outdoor company’s brand, a federal judge has ruled.
At the centre of the dispute is the Patagonia beer brand that AB-InBev has introduced into the US from Argentina, where it was registered as a trademark by the German brewer Warsteiner over a decade ago.
In its suit, which was filed in April this year, Patagonia claims that the beer’s logo is strikingly similar to its own mountainous mark.
AB-InBev has tried to get the case dismissed. But on 3 September 2019 , a US district judge denied the motion, media reported.
