Siebel Institute TwinTrack Brewing Microbiology Course

The Essential Track, says the Siebel Institute, covers issues like yeast propagation and maintenance, staining and identification of microorganisms, plating and aseptic handling techniques, and the full range of industry-standard lab QC/QA practices.

The Advanced Track, on the other hand, prepares students to take full advantage of emerging technologies, such as yeast genetic fingerprinting and identification of contaminants using PCR.

The Siebel Institute of Technology TwinTrack Brewing Microbiology Programme is conducted at the institute’s facilities in Montreal, Canada. Siebel’s Microbiological Services division is located at the National Research Council Biotechnology Research Institute, one of the world’s leading yeast and genetic research facilities. Students will be able to use state-of-the-art equipment while working with some of the industries’most experienced brewing microbiology instructors.

As this course requires several weeks for processing registrations, please register as soon as possible. As an extra benefit in the 2009 programme, this course coincides with the Mondial de la Bière, Montreal’s annual beer festival.
