Siebel offers Master of Beer Styles and Evaluation Course
This course (11 – 14 April 2011) will take an in-depth look at beer styles and flavours, providing the most in-depth training available in both "old world" and "new world" beer styles.
The programme starts with the one-day Sensory Analysis course in which Lyn Kruger, President of Siebel Institute, will train participants in the techniques used by brewing industry professionals in assessing the positive and negative attributes of beer. In just a few hours students will be able to speak with confidence about the characteristics of beer – in case they would like to impress their friends and colleagues with their knowledge.
After the Sensory Analysis course, participants will move on to the Master of Beer Styles course which begins by reviewing the language and role of styles and the full range of beer ingredients and processes.
They will be put in a style-by-style tour of the origins, evolution, and defining characteristics of each major beer style. Extensive beer tasting is conducted throughout the course with dozens of brews sampled and discussed with classmates and instructors Ray Daniels and Randy Mosher.
