Siebel Institute of Technology on the move – literally
The Siebel Institute of Technology, America’s oldest brewing school, announced that in the summer of 2013 it will be moving its campus to the facilities of Kendall College in Chicago.
Since 1934, Kendall College has risen to become one of the nation’s leading culinary and hospitality schools. Part of Laureate Education Inc., the campus of Kendall College is located along the Chicago River at Goose Island, only one mile from the existing Siebel campus.
The new Siebel Institute facility will occupy the ground floor of this 8-floor complex, showcasing the commitment by the Siebel Institute and Kendall College to expand the study of beverage production within the culinary and hospitality industries.
Siebel’s new location will offer a custom-designed facility that will retain many of the historic features of its 140-year-old brewing education environment while providing a state-of-the-art classroom experience to students.
In the coming years, the two schools will collaborate to offer new courses and programmes that focus on the emerging synthesis of the brewing and cooking cultures.
The faculty, staff and management of the Siebel Institute are excited to continue their legacy of brewing industry education and research in their new location at Kendall College.
