Molson Coors reports strong earnings

On 6 August 2014 the firm reported net income of USD 291 million in its second quarter (April to June 2014), up 9.5 percent compared to the same quarter of 2013, while beer sales remained flat at 8.7 million hl year-on-year.

In Europe, the volume of beer sold fell 1.3 percent to 6.0 million hl, which Molson Coors blamed on serious flooding in parts of Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia and Bulgaria.

But strong sales in the UK, Hungary and Czech Republic helped offset that weakness.
