Heineken’s Chris Barrow joins Pabst Brewery
Interesting to see where they pop up again. Chris Barrow, who was Heineken’s Chief Strategy Officer, until the Dutch brewer announced an executive reshuffle earlier this year, has joined the U.S. brewer Pabst, Beer Marketers Insights reported at the end of June 2015.
Mr Barrow is to serve as “Strategic Advisor” to Pabst’s CEO Eugene Kashper, effective 1 July 2015.
Beer Marketers Insights thinks Mr Barrow will lead Pabst’s acquisitions efforts and will be responsible for key international partnerships, as well as ongoing efforts to expand U.S. craft and imports.
Mr Kashper’s Oasis Group, which originated in Russia, took over Pabst in 2014 for an estimated USD 700 million.
Mr Barrow, who joined Heineken in 2004, after having worked for SABMiller, is an old hand at deal-making. On top of that he has managerial experience in running businesses. Between 2007 and 2010 he was in charge of Heineken’s Polish operations before being transferred to Brazil, where he was President of Heineken Brazil until 2013. That year he was appointed to Heineken’s Executive Committee as Chief Strategy Officer.
