KeyKeg consortium breaks through

The KeyKeg, the revolutionary one-way keg, was launched in November 2006. The KeyKeg proves to be a long-desired solution for beer breweries and wine producers. The KeyKeg consortium received more than 50 requests for tests and most of the producers are running their test programs now. Meanwhile the first orders have been placed and the first KeyKeg production line will start production in October 2007. To be able to fulfil the requests and to produce as close to their clients as possible the KeyKeg consortium is planning another 3 production lines at different locations.

The KeyKeg consortium has chosen Schwerin in Germany as the location for the first production line with a capacity of several thousands per day. In Schwerin both variants, the KeyKeg 20 (litre) and the KeyKeg 30 (litre) will be produced. The KeyKeg 30 is intended mainly for the export market.

The KeyKeg® is developed along the bag-in-ball principle. The pressurized PET ball houses a specially developed flexible inner bag, which contains the product. The content is dispensed by pressurizing the space between the bag and the ball. This unique concept is accompanied by a complete system for filling, logistics and dispensing. The KeyKeg® can be used on every existing beer and wine dispensing system. The KeyKeg® comes in a 20 and 30 litre variant; the KeyKeg 20 and KeyKeg 30. They both share the same superior characteristics, only the content differs. The KeyKeg 30 is developed for the export markets and saves more than 60% of the transport costs by eliminating the return transport and by the extreme low weight of the one way keg.
