Ziemann Energy takes off with patent of Brau Union

Due to rising energy prices and a shortage of resources it is of utmost importance to address environmental issues, energy and costs in a mix. In order to respond to these developments Ziemann founded the company Ziemann Energy GmbH, effective from July 1st 2008. Ziemann Energy GmbH has emerged from the Energy and Environment department and is a 100 % subsidiary of A. Ziemann GmbH. It covers all activities relating to the thermal utilization of spent grains as well as bio-ethanol plants. The decisive step behind the founding of Ziemann Energy was the purchase of the patent for thermal utilization of spent grains owned by Brau Union Österreich (BUÖ). With this new company launch A. Thus, innovative ideas relating to energy can be transposed quickly and flexibly into customer benefits..

This patent covers the Ziemann No-Waste Concept – a concept for the recovery of energetically relevant waste material from the brewing process within the energy system of the brewery. Ziemann GmbH will in future focus even more on all aspects of energy and enhances its position in the development of energy concepts.
