SABMiller launches new product Miller Midnight
Never mind the political quarrels between Russia and the United States. The Miller beer brand seems to be blissfully unaffected by them. Hence SABMiller RUS a subsidiary of SABMiller, has decided to launch a new product, Miller Midnight. It is supposedly a dark lager with the light refreshing taste of a pale one. This product is specifically brewed for Russian market and only available there.
Miller Midnight will be on sale as of mid November 2008 and will be packaged in 0.3 and 0.5 litre bottles. It will also be sold in kegs in Moscow and other large Russian cities. Eventually, Miller Midnight will be exported to CIS markets.
According to ACNielsen data, SABMiller enjoyed a market share of 6 percent in Russia in 2007. Its value share was 10 percent. SABMiller RUS employs over 1,800 people in Russia. It has breweries in Kaluga and in Vladivostok and is constructing a brewery in Ulyanovsk, which is due to start operating in 2009.
