How to bottle water inside a shipping container

We have seen a malting plant in a container in South Africa. We have heard of a hotel built of dozens of these containers stacked high. So why not have a bottling plant in one of them? On the back of a lorry these containers can be taken almost anywhere. That’s what their manufacturer, Plast Engineering Knauff, must have thought.

Obviously, the idea to put a PET bottle manufacturing and filling plant into a container was first picked up by the military and disaster relief organisations. Both require safe and simple supplies of drinking water.

But a bottle filling station in a container can be put to good use in more pacific surroundings too. And this is where Brewtech with its worldwide network of clients comes in.

Brewtech is a well-known consultancy firm in Hamburg that provides its partners in the beer and beverage industry with an array of services, including planning, engineering, product development, turnkey operations, feasibility studies, business plans and management for the running of a beverage company – both technical and commercial.

Headed by Jobst Meier zu Biesen, Brewtech grew out of Hamburg’s Kosmos Export company together with a host of like-minded consultancies. With Brauhaase having been sold to Castel and AMS being bought by Brewtech, the cluster of brewing and beverage industry consultancies, which once called Hamburg their home, has been reduced to just one: Brewtech.

Brewtech and AMS, says Mr Meier, complement each other, both in their regional focus and in their range of services. While AMS has its focus on Asia, Latin America and Russia, Brewtech is well-known in West Africa and the Caribbean. Together, at Brewtech, they will provide a large scope of consulting and management services to the brewing and beverage industry.

During drinktec, Brewtech can be found in hall B2 stand 218.
