Krones is awarded the EcoVadis gold medal
Sustainability | The internationally approved CSR platform EcoVadis evaluates more than 65,000 companies from 160 countries every year. With 66 out of 100 possible points, the Krones group secured a position among the best two percent of its industrial sector in this year’s rating – and received the EcoVadis gold medal in recognition of this achievement.
For Krones AG, Neutraubling, Germany, a double reason for pleasure: After having reached the silver medal in the previous year, the company was able to still increase its achievements. Welf Kramer, Head of Corporate Governance, attributes this improvement to the climate strategy recently adopted by Krones, and to the progress the Group has made in the area of human rights.
Important signal to customers
The results of the annual rating are published in detail on an online platform. They can be seen by the customers of the assessed companies, which are also registered with EcoVadis. “Many large beverage manufacturers are members of the EcoVadis network, as they are actively interested in the sustainability performance of their suppliers”, explained Kramer. “A good position in the rating is therefore no nice-to-have for us, but first and foremost a signal to our customers: We take the issue of sustainability seriously“.
