Heineken launches first fully branded airport bar at Chek Lap Kok Airport

In March Heineken opened its first Heineken Bar in the new Terminal 2 of Hong Kong International Airport on Lantau island. Heineken intends to roll out this branded bar concept to key international airports which support the brand’s premium positioning.

Chances are high that you will be served a Heiny once you board a plane. The Dutch brewer claims that the Heineken brand is the leading beer on board the world’s major airlines with 55 listings. For Heineken, being present on these airlines is a perfect opportunity to showcase the brand to 1.4 billion (!?!) international passengers every year. That’s why an airport bar was the logical next step for Heineken.

According to a corporate statement, the total area of the Heineken Bar is 100 sqm with seating capacity for up to 70 people. Both Heineken and Heineken Extra Cold are available on tap and in bottles along with a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. If this were not enough, the bar will also broadcast Heineken sponsored international sport, film and music events. For the full Heineken experience, the bar will give passengers the opportunity to try out innovations such as DraughtKeg – which will be available from passengers’ in-flight shopping brochure (if not yet, then soon).
