Expansion for Coopers
A planning application for an AUD 60 million (USD 48 million) upgrade at its Adelaide site was made to the relevant authorities by Coopers Brewery in April 2015. The upgrade includes installation of a malting plant and infrastructure to improve access for the trucks using the site each day.
This will be another major investment for Coopers after the AUD 20 million they have spent since 2013 on a second bottling line and new fermenters.
Coppers sold a record 770,000 hl beer in 2014, up 7.4 percent on 2013.
However, at this stage, the company will not comment on the application which is yet to be considered by the state’s Development Assessment Commission. As the plan still requires approval by both state and local governments and Coopers’ board, it is of a concept nature only at this stage.
