When Heinrich Huppmann founded the company in Kitzingen in 1874, he laid – just as Otto Tuchenhagen did in Kiel in 1931 (today located in Büchen) – the foundation for the later internationally leading brewery plant manufacturer GEA Brewery Systems.

A key competitive advantage is the merger of the long established companies Huppmann and Tuchenhagen Brewery Systems to form GEA Brewery Systems GmbH in 2009. Through this merger the company provides its expertise in the brewhouse, cold process area and CO₂ recovery as well as in the field of process control and plant training. This ensures smooth interaction in the entire plant.
