2026 ASBC & CIBD Meeting to take place from 17–19 August
USA | The American Society of Brewing Chemists (ASBC) and the Chartered Institute of Brewers and Distillers (CIBD) are joining forces 17–19 August 2026, in Seattle, Washington, USA, for a gathering of brewing and beverage scientists and professionals. The theme of the meeting is “Global Brewing and Distilling Innovation: Shaping the Future Together.”
It will be three days packed with technical innovations, practical insights, and global connections in brewing and distilling science.
Focus sessions
This year’s focus sessions include
- Global insights on flavor and stability in beer and beyond: Participants are invited to link flavor chemistry to real production decisions, with a guided tasting to sharpen their sensory skills and improve shelf life.
- Real-world applications of molecular methods used to detect and identify microorganisms: This session shows how rapid, DNA-based tools are improving detection speed, accuracy, and decision-making.
- Other sessions on yeast strain innovation, grain and malt quality, authenticity testing, and global industry challenges.
Field trip
On Sunday, 16 August, there will be the chance to partake ar a field trip to Westland Distillery for exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to how unconventional barley varieties are redefining single malt whiskey production.
