German malting group is extending its presence on Polish market

GlobalMalt, one of the world’s leading malting groups based in Germany, will complete the extension of its malthouse GlobalMalt Polska in Bydgoszcz/Poland within the fourth quarter of 2009. Thus the yearly production capacity of this site will be doubled to become 85,000 tons.

The construction of a new double-deck-kiln with indirect air heaters and heat exchangers, the enlargement of the germination boxes as well as further investments into a new refrigeration plant and peripheral equipments – all this will help to reduce considerably the need of primary energy per produced ton of malt and in consequence the effects on the environment.

The total malting capacity of will reach yearly more than 400,000 tons of malt once the extension in Poland will be completed.

With its seven malt houses in Germany and Poland, an export quota of more than 30 percent and customers in more than 70 countries all over the world, GlobalMalt is an important supplier of the world’s brewing industries.
