The Beer Brewing Guide: The EBC Quality Handbook for Small Breweries
Comprehensive guide | With the “Beer Brewing Guide – the EBC Quality Handbook for Small Breweries”, published in June 2021, the Brewers of Europe and the European Brewery Convention commissioned a new must-have book that provides small breweries and aspirational professional brewers with practical tips to improve the way they brew on all critical quality points, from receiving the ingredients to ensure their beer is poured the perfect way.
On 408 pages, the practical and technical book by Christopher and Nancy McGreger, freelance writers, consultants and long-time BRAUWELT International translators, covers the entire brewing process, from receiving the ingredients at the door of the brewery to serving the beer in a bar, from the eyes and capabilities of a small brewery. It looks at all steps of the process and emphasizes the crucial quality points brewers must pay attention to in order to increase the consistency and quality of the brewing process and the beer they brew.
Throughout the book the authors strongly emphasize the importance of a good quality management in all parts of the brewery and in fact beyond, since, as EBC President Benet Fité Luis puts it in his foreword, “a brewer can have a great idea, translate it in a recipe, but to make it happen – consistently, brew after brew, […] – that’s neither easy nor always evident.” This book aims at helping brewers to maximise the quality of their process and thus, of their beers.
Technical appendices outlining key techniques and recommendations for all steps of the brewing process are conveniently included at the back of the book.
The "Beer Brewing Guide” is available for sale via www.brewup.eu or from Fachverlag Hans Carl’s online bookshop under https://carllibri.com.
