New Research Director at Carlsberg Research Center

Dr.-Ing. habil. Stefan Kreisz (41) was appointed Research Director for Brewing and Yeast Technology at the renowned Carlsberg Research Center in Kopenhagen, Denmark. He started working in this position on 1 January 2011.

Dr. Kreisz studied brewing technology at TU München, Weihenstephan. After his doctorate at the former Department for Brewing Technology I he went to work for Novozymes A/S in Denmark as Science Manager. At the same time he worked on his thesis for a postdoctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation), which was finished in 2010.

Currently the Carlsberg Research Center employs over 100 people from different countries fulltime, mainly in the sectors Basic Research and Applied Sciences, in order to achieve a better scientific understanding of the brewing process from raw materials to beverage packaging.

In the sector Applied Sciences, Dr. Kreisz and his team will mainly be responsible for the development of brewhouse and fermentation technology.
