Boston Beer to open a Truly taproom in Los Angeles next year
USA | Errr, will punters really seek out a destination taproom to drink hard seltzers? Boston Beer clearly thinks so. Truly LA, as this brick-and-mortar taproom is called, will open next year in Downtown Los Angeles. It will seat 350 persons indoors and outdoors.
Though a number of smaller American hard seltzer brands already have their own taprooms, a spokesperson for Truly said that their forthcoming Truly facility will be the first taproom for a major national hard seltzer brand.
Truly LA’s 12 taps will feature hard seltzers from the brand’s large range of varieties, as well as lemonades, iced teas, and punch. “Globally-inspired light bites” will be served and Truly merchandise will be available.
The taproom will be located at 213 Alameda Street in the Los Angeles Arts District, adjacent to the Angel City Brewery which, unsurprisingly, is a brand that has also been owned by the Boston Beer Company since 2012. Perhaps Boston Beer already had a lease on the land and decided to convert it into a taproom rather than, say, an extra parking lot.
