PIANETA BIRRA 2007 a resounding success

According to a news release, this year’s Pianeta Birra Beverage & Co presented a completely renewed format to respond in a more incisive manner to changing market requirements. The show stood out for its 53,000 sq m of total expo space, as well as the number of exhibitors: over 450. There were eight sections on show: “Le Birre” (beer), “Le Acque” (mineral water), Espresso & Hot Drinks, “Disseta” (Fruit juices and cordials, soft drinks, energy drinks), “Gocce di Vite” (spirits and wines), “Berebio” (organic beverages), “Equipment” and “Pub Snacks”.

A new feature of the exhibition was “I love Beer”, a dedicated focus on beer, addressing publicans with suggestions for new service methods, formats and atmospheres. In the context of “I love Beer”, there were various events, including “Europe at the pub”, where chefs and students from Europe’s hotel schools (from Italy, Spain, Great Britain, Germany, the Czech Republic and Scandinavia) met to launch cultural exchanges and show their skills at the first edition of the “Young European Chefs” contest, won by two Spaniards, Luis Josè Jara Fernandez and Laura Orellana Bucaro from the Seville hotel school.

This was also the year that Pianeta Birra Beverage & Co. opened its doors to the town, with “Drink Village”, a series of events outside the expo for the involvement of the general public. With shows, tasting sessions and animation, exhibitors were able to launch new products and test them immediately on consumers in the heart of the town as well as in the area to the west of the expo halls.

The next Pianeta Birra will be held in Rimini from 23 to 26 February 2008.
