Students receive 15 percent daytime discount at all BrewDog bars

What’s the big news here? Bars and restaurants have always had various discount schemes – think Happy Hour – to bring punters through their doors. And why does BrewDog only allow students to benefit from the discount? Why not senior citizens too? They are usually hard up too.

You have to give it to BrewDog: they enjoy such high standing with the UK’s media that even a minor PR exercise is treated like big news. Viz their latest offering of a trial 15 percent discount on all food and drinks in all of its UK bars on weekdays, Mondays to Fridays between 12 and 5pm.

BrewDog justified its move by saying: “Students are social creatures on a tight budget. Anyone who’s been one will know that all too well. Craft beer is not cheap to produce, and its price reflects that. These two truths mean that if you’re a student who loves craft beer, the facts don’t really work in your favour!

“We will never cut corners on our beer or use inferior ingredients for the sake of making it cheaper, but we understand that students might want to enjoy great beer on a budget. That’s why we’ve decided to cut all you students some slack and offer this discount to give you somewhere to enjoy amazing beer and food during the day with your friends.”

BrewDog has bars in 13 University cities in the UK and a total of 17 bars across the country. All of them offer free wireless, so students can settle in with a beer – or a coffee – and their study tools.

This offer sounds good. Perhaps senior citizens should start petitioning BrewDog for a discount as well.
