drinktec 2017 brings together winegrowers and craft brewers

Winegrowers and craft brewers use similar technologies and packaging, think in terms of smallish quantities, and like filling their products in elegant bottles.

drinktec, the leading trade fair for the beverage and liquid food industry, brings both target groups together at the exhibition’s halls in Munich from September 11 to 15. The Italian wine technology trade fair SIMEI is part of drinktec for the first time. The fact that wine technology is geared to small quantities also makes it interesting for brewers of special craft beers. That is why paying a visit to SIMEI in Halls C2 and C3 is worthwhile in particular for craft brewers, micro brewers and anyone specializing in ale production. SIMEI@drinktec offers solutions for topics such as:

• filling technology for small quantities;

• low-cost filling technology for bottle conditioned beer;

• filling of special formats;

• special format glass bottles;

• sophisticated closure technology, such as natural cork or design;

• tanks for ale production;

• wooden barrel logistics.

In Hall B1, in the direct vicinity of SIMEI’s halls, brewers can find all raw materials relating to brewing – special malts, the whole gamut of hop aromas, and the latest findings on yeast cultures are presented there. Vendors are increasingly following the trend toward craft beers and offering their products in smallish batches specifically for this segment.

Moreover, drinktec 2017 offers the brewing industry all it requires to produce and market beer. Home and craft brewers, as well as family businesses and large breweries, can find solutions tailored to their needs. A total of around 80 percent of drinktec’s exhibitors offer solutions and technology for the world of brewing. The exhibitors in Hall B2 will present product-specific process technology for beer, while catering supplies and dispensing systems are on show in Hall A1. Most of the 150,000 square meter exhibition area is devoted to filling and packaging technology. One new feature is the exhibition section “Home & Craft” in Hall C1, directly next to SIMEI’s halls, where small and home brewers can find the right equipment.
