Carlsberg ordered to shut brewery in India over emissions
India | Carlsberg has reportedly been ordered by environmental authorities to close its brewery in the north-western Indian state of Rajasthan over emissions breaches. According to The Economic Times (12 October), the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board has revoked Carlsberg India’s consent to operate the facility in Alwar, citing particular emissions nearly eight times above the permitted limit. The order also said the brewery transmitted only 35 percent of its required pollution-monitoring data to the central regulator, below the mandatory threshold of 85 percent.
