Gladfield takes on Malteurop’s Ashburton site in New Zealand

New Zealand | The Canterbury-based and family-owned malt producer Gladfield Malt acquired the former Malteurop barley storage site in Ashburton, South Island, media reported on 2 October. Gladfield Malt owners and fifth-generation barley growers Doug and Gabi Michael said the purchase of the 3.2 ha site is about securing an important grain-handling asset for New Zealand growers and brewers. No financials were disclosed but the property has a rating value of NZD 2 million (USD 1.3 million).
