Kirin’s non-alcoholic Karada Free is a slimming potion

Japan | A beer which actually reduces your beer belly could be the Next Big Thing. In October 2019, Kirin launched Kirin Karada Free, a functional “beer-taste beverage” in corporate speak, which doesn’t have any alcohol.

Media say that it contains “bitter acid”, a hop extract (S-Ignite), which doesn’t add any noticeable bitterness or acidity to the beer, but has the remarkable effect of reducing abdominal fat.

To test the slimming effect of Kirin Karada Free, Kirin’s researchers conducted a test: 200 men and women with Body Mass Indexes between 25 and 30 were either given one can a day for 12 weeks or a placebo. Those who drank Kirin Karada Free achieved a reduction in their total abdominal fat between 7 and 8 square cm greater than those who didn’t.

Kirin Karada Free has hardly any calories (5 per 100 ml), and scarcely any sugar (less than 0.5 g) or purine bodies (under 0.5 mg).

So ladies, throw out your protein drinks and grab a Kirin Karada Free instead.
