In top shape for a glass of bubbly

SoBe diet? Atkins diet? Have a glass of a low calorie bubbly instead.

Health-conscious party girls now have a new tailor-made drink. Under the wine label Yellowglen Foster’s in March has released two low calorie, low alcohol sparkling wines, Jewel Yellow and Jewel Pink, aimed at gym-going female consumers. With 6.0% abv the wines have 60 calories per standard glass (Yellow) and 85 calories (Pink), compared with average values of 11.5% abv and 100 calories for standard sparkling wines. According to Group Sparkling Marketing Manager, Jenny Nolch (don’t you love that job title!), consumers are looking for products that can be part of a balanced lifestyle.

The Yellowglen brand is geared to young women. The new sparkling variety is for those who have also embraced the low-carbohydrate beers offered by some major brewers.

The sparkling wines retail at AUD 13.99 (EUR 8.50) per 750 ml bottle.
