At this stage, it is not known if Australian plantings of albarino from other sources are also suspect. There is some talk of legal action being taken by affected growers. Meanwhile, white wine drinkers who have abandoned chardonnay and riesling varietals for sauvignon blanc are being urged to return to wines made from the former to support Barossa valley growers.
