BrauBeviale 2024: Positive signals from the market

Nuremberg | Following the conclusion of BrauBeviale 2024 in Nuremberg on Thursday, 28 November 2024, it is once again clear that the brewing and beverage industry continues to prioritise communication and information exchange. With 30,821 visitors, around 84 per cent of which from Germany and the European Union, BrauBeviale confirms its position as the leading European meeting point for the industry.

Featuring 858 exhibitors across the net exhibition area of 35,403 m², BrauBeviale 2024 once again met the expectations of visitors. In addition to extensive exhibition areas, BrauBeviale 2024 offered special areas for their lecture programme. The focus on topics dedicated to raw materials & marketing, technology & packaging was central to the discussions, providing visitors with invaluable insights into current trends and developments.

Trade fairs provide impetus for investment

In 2024, around 10% of the exhibitors were new or returning exhibitors, emphasising the brewing and beverage sector’s appeal to a wide range of suppliers. “Exhibitors are clearly more strategic in selecting their stand sizes, which is reflected in a 9% decrease in the total space sold at this year’s event,” explained Rolf Keller, Managing Director of trade fair organiser Yontex. “However, this should not be interpreted as a sign of pessimism in the industry. On the contrary, many exhibitors, including market leaders, have indicated that investment activity is on the rise. Preliminary analysis of the visitor profile shows a significant increase in the proportion of decision-makers attending.”

Visitors also recognise the vital role of the trade fair in providing a comprehensive overview of the latest industry developments. “According to the impressions of visitors, the overall breadth of BrauBeviale has become the key factor in attracting visitors. It is no longer enough for the industry professionals to simply visit individual exhibition stands. The overarching view is also important,” emphasises Andrea Kalrait, Executive Director BrauBeviale.

The next BrauBeviale is scheduled to take place in Nuremberg from 10 to 12 November 2026. The organisers have responded to industry feedback by scheduling the event in the long-established mid-November timeframe, as the trade fair will not be held in the year of drinktec.
