WBC 2024: Abstract submission now open

World Brewing Congress | As of 1 February 2024, brewing professionals are invited to submit technical abstracts and proposals for pre-meeting workshops and scientific sessions for the World Brewing Congress (WBC) 2024. The WBC 2024 will take place from 17–20 August 2024 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.

Every four years, the WBC unites the global brewing community to advance brewing science through the exchange of leading scientific research, established methodologies, and cutting-edge technologies. It is presented by the American Society of Brewing Chemists and Master Brewers Association of the Americas with active participation from the Brewery Convention of Japan, the European Brewery Convention, and the Institute of Brewing and Distilling.

Main topics 2024

The brewing industry is a dynamic and ever-evolving landscape faced with various complex issues, such as sustainability, supply chain resilience, market trends, and regulatory shifts. WBC 2024 aims to provide a compass for the brewing community to chart its course through the challenges that brewers and brewing professionals encounter on a global scale.

The main topics at the WBC 2024 will be:

  • Raw materials: availability and quality;
  • technology advancements: AI's impact on brewing;
  • new product innovation: meeting and exceeding consumer demands;
  • regulatory: global market solutions;
  • resilient workforce: recruiting and retaining quality employees;
  • sustainable practices: securing the future of brewing.

Submissions on these topics are encouraged, but they are not a requirement.

For pre-meeting workshops, the deadline to submit well-thought-out proposals offering hands-on, interactive workshops featuring new topics and techniques in brewing is 22 February 2024. Happening August 17, these long-format workshops can run 3–8 hours.
